How did you first get started in the bodybuilding and fitness industry?

I started bodybuilding after I began reading Muscle and Fitness Magazines to get information on training to get stronger. I did Martial Arts for a few years and I needed to develop some strength. I loved how the ladies in the magazine looked and I wanted to attain that look, so I stopped the Martial Arts and started weight training.

Was there a defining moment that got you to start training at a whole different level?

When I was prepping for my first Pro show……wow it was like nothing I have ever done before.

What are the top 2 or 3 ways you keep yourself motivated? There are mornings when I am tired and my bed is so warm and I am tempted to take a rest day so:

  1. I thank God for a new day and that I did not wake up in the hospital where there are many wishing that they could get out of bed.
  2. I focus on whatever goal I have and know it is attainable and if ever doubt begins to creep in I reflect on how far I have come.
  3. I think that when I am resting the other girls are training…

In your opinion what is the biggest hurdle you or most people have to overcome in regards to their fitness career and goals?

I think it would be time management as apart from training there are other aspects of life that requires our time and attention……..studies, family, work etc. and it’s not always easy for them to fall into place as we would like.

How useful do you think supplements are? Do you use supplements? What is your current top supplement?

Supplements are useful but they are just there for what it says to supplement and not replace proper eating practices. The main supplements I use are whey protein, BCAA’s, Glutamine, and multi-vitamins.

If you were to upload your arms to our muscle voting site ( right now, what do you think you would rate?

My arms are not as big or peaked as others so I think I may rate at a 6….lol.

How did/do your family and friends feel about your training?

My family and few friends are all very supportive with regards to my training and competing.

Can you give us a brief summary of your competition history?

What are your fitness/bodybuilding plans for 2012?

I am not competing in 2012 as I am trying to make some changes/improvements in my physique.

Who is your favorite fitness model or bodybuilder? (Other than yourself!)

Iris Kyle a because apart from having a great physique she has demonstrated the level of discipline, dedication and consistency required not only to take her to the top but also to keep her there.

Describe what you see when you look at yourself in the mirror every morning!

Lol……as silly as it sounds I simply see me a blessed person that was able to attain some of her goals.

What did your physique look like before you started training?

I had the average physique but I always had unusually broad shoulders.

Do you feel that you are treated differently because of your physique and fitness goals?

Sometimes yes, people have reacted both negatively and positively

What is your favorite quote?

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

My favorite cheat meal is a Trinidadian food called a Roti
Roti… features prominently in the diet of many West Indian countries, especially Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Suriname. West Indian roti are primarily made from wheat flour, salt, and water. They are cooked on a tava. Certain rotis are also made with butter. There are several types of roti made in the West Indies:Dhalpuri: A roti with a stuffing of ground yellow split peas, cumin (geera), garlic, and pepper. The split peas are boiled until they are al dente and then ground in a mill. The cumin is toasted until black and also ground. The stuffing is pushed into the roti dough, and sealed. When rolled flat, the filling is distributed within the roti. The filling can be curried chicken, curried potato, curried chick peas.

Outside of training and dieting how do you like to spend your time?

I love going to the movies for a good action flick!

What is the dumbest thing you yourself have done or witnessed in the gym?

I once saw a lady running on the treadmill and talking on a cell phone but the program was on random so when the speed increased she was too deep in conversation and fell off.

What is your favorite body part to train? What about your least favorite?

I enjoy training my Chest the most as it responds fast but I don’t have a favorite or least favorite as it were as over the years I have become more focused and understand that all the body parts are linked and important.

What is the one question you hate hearing the most? (e.g how much do you bench?)

I hate hearing…are you a boy or a girl?
